System requirements
RawScope requires macOS 27.0 or later. Supported inputs are camera RAW files that Apple's Core Image implementation can decode on your Mac.
A RAW file will not open
RawScope uses the camera RAW support available on your Mac. Camera model, RAW variant and macOS version can affect support. JPEG, TIFF and other rendered images are output formats, not supported RAW inputs.
RAW 8, RAW 9 or an adjustment is unavailable
These options follow the capabilities Apple reports for the particular RAW file. An unavailable processor or control is not necessarily a fault. Other supported processing and export options remain available.
Using the White Balance Picker
Choose an area in the photograph that should be neutral, such as a grey reference. The picker samples a fixed 21 x 21 area of source pixels, regardless of screen zoom. Zooming in helps you place the sample; it does not make the sample smaller.
The result updates Temperature and Tint through the existing Apple RAW adjustments. Inspect the result and refine it if needed.
Choosing an export for further editing
16-bit TIFF is a useful starting point when your editor supports it. Choose a colour space that fits your workflow and that the destination application handles correctly. Floating-point TIFF and OpenEXR require suitable support in the receiving application.
Useful details when reporting a problem
- Your RawScope version and macOS version.
- The camera model and RAW file type.
- What you tried, what happened and what you expected.
- For export problems, the selected format, bit depth and colour space.
Avoid including private metadata, GPS coordinates, personal file paths or unrelated photographs in screenshots. Please do not send original RAW files unless requested.
